Halloween Chex Mix
A sweet and fun blend of cereal, pretzels, and your favorite fall candies. But the best part is the caramel candy coating baked right on
Servings: 12 servings
9 x13 baking dish
- 1 cup butter
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- 2 cups brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 18 ounce box corn chex cereal
- 2 cups candy corn
- 2 cups cream pumpkin candies
- 2 cups mini pretzels
- 1 package candy eyes
Prep. Preheat the oven to 275°. Pour the cereal into a 9 x13 baking dish.
Make the syrup. Bring all the syrup ingredients to a boil except for the baking soda. It doesn't need to thicken or cook. Add the baking soda and stir.
Bake the cereal and syrup. Pour the syrup on top of the Chex and gently stir, trying not to break too much of the cereal. Bake at 275° for 45 minutes, stirring a few times.
Cool. Let the cereal cool completely before adding the candy. When it's ready, the coating will be hard and crunchy.
Mix. Add the candy corn, candy pumpkins, mini pretzels, and candy eyes.
You can also add Halloween M&Ms to this mix.
There's no need to spray the pan, there's enough butter in the syrup.
