Equipment

  • Parchment or wax paper
  • Microwave-safe bowls

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large strawberries
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chip cookies (1 package)
  • ½ teaspoon shortening
  • 3 ounces white candy melts
  • fall sprinkles

Instructions

  • Prepare the strawberries. Wash and dry the strawberries and allow them to come to room temperature.
  • Melt the white candy melts and chocolate chips. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white candy melts according to package directions. In a separate bowl, combine the chocolate chips and shortening and microwave on low for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat untill smooth.
  • Dip. Holding the strawberry by the green top or with a skewer, dip it into the chocolate. You can either coat it fully or leave red "shoulders". Immediately after coating, dip half of the strawberries into sprinkles or sprinkle them on top. With the other half, dip partially into the white candy melts and then add sprinkles.
  • Let set up. Place on parchment paper and let cool until the chocolate hardens

Notes

Style these however you want.  Add stripes, different colored sprinkles, or sanding sugar.
