  • Parchment or wax paper
  • Microwave-safe bowls

  • 1 lb large strawberries
  • 12 ounces orange candy melts (1 package)
  • 3 ounces black candy melts
  • to make ghosts, you'll also want white candy melts and candy eyes

  • Prepare the strawberries. Wash and dry the strawberries and allow them to come to room temperature.
  • Melt the candy melts. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white candy melts according to package directions. Do not overheat, or they will become hard and clumpy.
  • Dip. Holding the strawberry by the green top or with a skewer, dip it into the orange or white candy melts.. You can either coat it fully or leave red "shoulders". I
  • Decorate. Using a toothpick, draw on a face for jack o'lanterns. For mummies, add candy eyes.
  • Let set up. Place on parchment paper and let cool until the chocolate hardens

If you get tired of decorating, simply sprinkle with Halloween sprinkles while they are still wet.  They'll look cute mixed in with the more elaborate ones.
