Goat Milk Lotion Bars

An easy recipe for portable lotion bars, perfect for very dry skin like knees and elbows.
Prep Time:10 minutes
cooling:4 days
Total Time:4 days 10 minutes

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Spatula
  • Guest size soap mold

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Measure the beeswax, coconut oil, avocado oil, almond oil, and shea butter into a medium saucepan, using a digital scale.
  • Melt the oils over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. Do not leave them unattended, as beeswax is very flammable. The butters will melt first and the beeswax pellets will take longer. This is normal.
  • When all components are fully melted, add the fragrance oil and stir. Pour the mixture into the mold immediately.
  • Allow to harden 4-8 hours before turning out.

Notes

Lotion bars do not need any cure time and be used immediately.
Don’t leave in a hot car or you’ll have a mess.
Beeswax pellets are the easiest to melt and measure.  White or yellow are both fine; I use white in these images.
