Equipment
Dutch oven or deep skillet
Paper Towels
Ingredients
15fun-sized Snickers bars1 full bag
1cupflour
1teaspoonbaking powder
½teaspoonsalt
1tablespoongranulated sugar
¾cupmilk
1quartpeanut or vegetable oil
¼cuppowdered sugar
Instructions
Prepare the pan or deep fryer. In a deep skillet, Dutch oven, or deep fryer, preheat the oil to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with paper towels for the finished bars.
Make the batter. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, oil, and granulated sugar. Stir in the milk and whisk. The mixture will resemble pancake batter: a few small lumps are okay. Pour it into a glass for easy dunking.
Dip and fry. One or two at a time, skewer the candy bars, dip them into the batter and gently place them into the oil.
Fry. Fry for 3 minutes in the deep fryer or 2 minutes per side in a skillet or Dutch oven. When they are golden brown, remove the paper towel-lined baking sheet. Work in batches until all the bars are fried.
Add sugar and serve. Dust generously with powdered sugar. Serve immediately.
Notes
This will go best if you dunk, then immediately fry, then remove to a paper-towel lined plate. Have a station set up before you begin.Feel free to use Milky Way or Mars bars instead.
