Summer Strawberry Sangria

This bright sangria with lots of fruit balances sweet strawberries with crisp rosé wine and a splash of orange liqueur. Make it at least 4 hours ahead to let the flavors meld.

  • Glass pitcher

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle dry Spanish rosé wine 750 mL
  • ½ cup Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 1 pound strawberries fresh, hulled, and sliced
  • 2 oranges thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cold club soda
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  • Combine. In a large glass pitcher, combine the rosé wine and Cointreau.

  • Add. Add the sliced strawberries, orange slices, and lemon slices to the pitcher.

  • Chill. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or up to 24 hours) to allow the flavors to blend.
  • Finish. Just before serving, stir in the club soda. Fill glasses with ice and pour the sangria over the top, making sure to include some of the soaked fruit in each glass.

Notes

For the best flavor, use a dry Spanish rosé wine rather than a sweet one - this allows the natural fruit flavors to shine through.
