Honestly, they’re the best thing to serve at a party. Everyone gets what they want with no awkward slicing or scooping. I like to pick two sandwiches to serve: one normal, one more strange. A rule that has served me well many years.

Party Tips

  • Prep ahead of time: Many sandwich components, like fillings and spreads, can be prepared the day before to make assembly quicker on the day of your event.
  • Use sturdy bread: Choose bread that can hold up to fillings without getting soggy, such as baguettes, rolls, or wraps, especially if the sandwiches will be sitting out for a while.
  • Keep them fresh: Cover sandwiches with plastic wrap or store them in airtight containers until serving to prevent drying out. Follow these food safety tips to keep your sandwiches safe.
  • A vegetarian option is considerate: Cucumber tea sandwiches, caprese sliders, and roasted veggie wraps are crowd-pleasers that happen to be vegetarian.
  • Label them! Or else people will avoid them out of confusion or ask you endless questions.
