How to Make Apple Pie Jam

• 6 cups diced Granny Smith apples • 2 cups apple cider • 2 tbsp lemon juice • 1.75 oz powdered pectin • Spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger • 2 cups sugar • Vanilla bean powder & salt

Ingredients Needed

Wash jars with hot soap water. Submerge in water bath canner over medium heat. Simmer lids and rings in a saucepan.

Preparing the Jars

Combine apples, cider, and lemon juice in a pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes until apples soften. Stir occasionally.

Cooking the Apples

Optional: Use an immersion blender to slightly blend the apple mixture for a smoother texture, or leave it chunky if you prefer.

Blending the Mixture

Whisk in pectin, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, vanilla bean powder, and salt. Bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.

 Adding Spices and Pectin

Add sugar and return to a full rolling boil. Boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly to prevent burning.

Incorporating the Sugar

Ladle jam into jars, wipe rims, and fasten lids. Process in a water bath canner for 10 minutes. Let jars rest in canner for 5 minutes before cooling.

Canning the Jam

Cool jars for 12-24 hours, check seals, and store in a cool, dark place for up to 18 months. Enjoy your Apple Pie Jam anytime!
