Bread Machine Tips

  • You Can Adapt Almost Any Recipe! Most bread recipes can be tweaked to work with or without a bread machine. For machine use, add wet ingredients first, then dry, and yeast last (unless your machine says otherwise). No machine? Follow the same steps but knead by hand or use a stand mixer!
  • Check the Dough Early
Peek in during the first knead. If the dough looks dry or crumbly, add a teaspoon of water at a time. If it’s too wet, sprinkle in more flour. You’re aiming for a soft, smooth dough.
  • Use the Delay Timer
Want fresh bread in the morning? Add your ingredients before bed and set the delay timer. Just be cautious with recipes that include dairy or eggs if they’ll be sitting out
  • Bake in a loaf pan instead. For the prettiest loaves, just use the dough cycle and shape by hand for the final rise and bake. The best of both worlds!

Classic Sandwich Breads
