You know those days when you’re craving a specialty coffee, but you don’t want to leave the house? This is my go-to solution. It’s so easy to make and tastes as good (if not better!) than anything I’d get at a cafe. Plus, I love that I can customize it with my favorite milk and toppings. It’s the perfect pick-me-up on a crisp fall day.

Honestly, this latte is a game-changer. It’s the perfect blend of sweet and cozy, always putting me in a good mood. It’s become my go-to fall drink!

Latte Making Tips

  • Chill your milk: Using cold milk helps keep the latte chilled and prevents it from becoming watered down.
  • Don’t skip the ice: Plenty of ice is essential for a refreshing iced latte. If you want a warmer version of this drink, try my caramel apple latte.
  • Experiment with flavors: Try different flavored syrups or add a pinch of spice to customize your drink.
  • Make it ahead: Prepare a batch of apple syrup ahead of time for quick and easy lattes throughout the week.
  • Adjust sweetness: Taste the latte before serving and adjust the amount of syrup to your liking.

Key Ingredients

Let’s take a look at a few key ingredients that will help you create the perfect iced latte.

  • Nescafé instant espresso powder (or espresso shot). Instant espresso powder is a convenient alternative if you don’t have an espresso machine. Look for it in the coffee aisle.
  • Apple syrup. This syrup adds a concentrated apple flavor to the latte. You can find it in specialty stores, online, or make your own for a truly homemade touch.
  • Brown sugar cinnamon syrup. This syrup adds sweetness and warmth to the latte. It’s available in most grocery stores, or you can make your own by simmering brown sugar, water, and cinnamon sticks together.

With these ingredients on hand, you can easily make your own iced latte at home.

Serving Suggestions

Serve with apple cider donuts, muffins, an iced bread loaf, or a caramel apple cobbler.

Troubleshooting and Help

Can I use a different type of coffee?

Absolutely! While instant espresso powder or a shot of espresso provides a classic coffee flavor, you can certainly experiment with other options. Strong-brewed coffee, cold-brew concentrate, or even decaf coffee can all work in this recipe. Just adjust the amount to your desired strength.

I don’t have flavored syrups. Any suggestions?

No problem! If you don’t have apple syrup or brown sugar cinnamon syrup on hand, you can create similar flavors with a few simple substitutions. Try a combination of honey or maple syrup with a dash of apple pie spice or cinnamon for a delicious twist. You can also experiment with other flavor combinations like vanilla or caramel.

Can I make this latte ahead of time?

While it’s best enjoyed fresh, you can certainly prepare some elements in advance. Make a batch of apple syrup and store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. You can also pre-mix the espresso or coffee with the syrups and keep it chilled until ready to use. Just add ice and milk when you’re ready to enjoy your latte.

Remember, the beauty of this recipe is its versatility. Feel free to experiment with different flavors and ingredients to create your perfect fall latte.

Storing Leftovers

Because this recipe is best enjoyed fresh, I don’t recommend storing or freezing the fully assembled latte. However, you can prepare some elements ahead of time for quick and easy assembly:

  • Apple Syrup: Store homemade apple syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Espresso or Coffee: Brew a larger batch of espresso or coffee and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Flavored Syrups: Store-bought or homemade flavored syrups can typically be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator according to the package instructions.

When you’re ready to enjoy your latte, simply combine the chilled coffee or espresso with the syrups, milk, and ice. This way, you can have a delicious latte ready in minutes!

I hope you enjoy this simple and delicious iced caramel apple latte. Whether you’re sipping it on a crisp fall morning or savoring it as an afternoon treat, this latte is sure to become a new favorite. So grab your favorite mug, gather your ingredients, and get ready to experience the cozy flavors of autumn in every sip.
