Apple Cider Rum Slushies
You mix, you freeze, you pour. Easy! This recipe for apple cider rum slushies is the perfect easy fall cocktail that combines the cozy flavors of apple cider and spiced rum in a refreshing slushy. Save this for September when your heart wants fall, but it’s still in the 90s.

Give the bag a little shake a few times while it’s freezing to make sure the slushy texture is even. Put your serving glasses in the freezer for about 30 minutes before using them so the slushies stay cold for longer.

Ingredients and Tools You’ll Need
If it’s cider season, grab one of the fresh gallons from the apple orchard. If you can’t find any, just the shelf-stable stuff at the grocery store is still tasty. You might want to use an extra freezer bag to stop any spills.

How to Make Apple Cider Rum Slushies
Prepare these slushies a day ahead of serving to make sure they freeze properly.
Step One: Combine. Pour the cider and rum into the freezer bag. Seal the bag and put it in the 9×13 dish.

Step Two: Freeze. Put everything in the freezer for at least 5 hours until it reaches a slushy-like consistency.

Step Three: Serve. Take the bag out of the freezer and pour the mixture into cups. If it’s too solid, let it sit on the counter for 15 minutes.
Serving & Storing
Enjoy a glass with some cheese and crackers, pulled pork sandwiches, or chili and cornbread.
Put any leftovers in the same big freezer bag. Close the bag tightly and store it in the freezer. They’ll stay good for about a week.
When you want the slushies again, leave the bag on the counter for 15 minutes to get soft. Then, shake it a bit and pour it into cups.
If you want to keep the leftover mix in the fridge, it won’t stay slushy but will still taste good. Put it in a sealed container and use it within three days.
