Tips for a Stressfree Dinner
Choose what to make ahead of time. The ham can go in the slow cooker early Sunday morning. Make the bundt cake and lemon cupcakes on Saturday – they’ll stay perfectly fresh. And those cheesy hashbrowns? Pop them in the crockpot before church.
Write out your timeline. It helps SO much to know exactly when to start each dish. The rolls need time to rise, and the scalloped potatoes take a full hour to bake. (I’ll save you some stress – start your potatoes before the rolls!)
Keep your table simple. A white tablecloth, some grocery store flowers in mason jars, and cloth napkins are all you need. Nope, you don’t need special Easter decorations!
Double-check your dishes and serving spoons the day before. Nothing worse than realizing you need two casserole dishes and only having one clean!
Get help with the cleanup. The person who cooks shouldn’t do the dishes – that’s just a rule at my house! Have someone else load the dishwasher while you pack up leftovers.
Have a Lovely Holiday!
Pick one, pick a few, or all of them (okay, maybe don’t do all of them). But the important thing is to enjoy your day and your family.
