Easy Canning Recipe: Blueberry Preserves

• 4 cups blueberries • 1.75 oz package powdered pectin • 4 cups sugar • Lemon juice (optional)

Ingredients You’ll Need

• Wash jars in hot soapy water • Place jars in water bath canner and heat • Heat lids and rings in a saucepan

Prepare Your Equipment

• Mash 2 cups of blueberries • Combine with whole blueberries in an 8-quart pot

• Add pectin and optional lemon juice • Bring mixture to a rolling boil

Add Pectin and Lemon Juice

• Add sugar all at once • Stir continuously and boil for 1 minute

Add Sugar and Boil

• Ladle hot mixture into jars, leaving ¼” headspace • Wipe rims, add lids, and tighten rings

Fill and Seal Jars

• Submerge jars in water bath canner • Boil for 10 minutes, then let jars rest in canner

Process in Canner

• Allow jars to cool for 12-24 hours • Check seals and store in a cool, dark place
